I recently brought my kids to the Laumeier Sculpture Park in Sunset Hills, MO to run around and have fun one morning. It is a beautiful park.
Many of the sculptures the kids could touch and climb on were primarily abstract in nature, including this one, which I think I've seen similar ones at UH-Manoa (in front of the engineering building) and at the LACMA in Los Angeles.
Many of the art pieces had plaques with the artists' information, donors, and a little blurb about the style of the piece. I came across this next to one of the larger sculptures:"A study in pure form", with "no expressive or symbolic associations with [the] work."
Now, I'm not knocking the artist; and I am definitely not an art critic.
But I guess I'm just irked I didn't think of it first. Ha ha ha ha!
