Grandpa's Funeral - Day 3

August 9

We're in for another long and exhausting day. But the morning looks promising. See the Jesus rays above? I took this as my Dad drove to Kalihi from Waipahu.
Today is Grandpa's Funeral. We will be at Our Lady of the Mount for a final mass and then we will drive to Valley of the Temples for his burial.
It is our (Filipino) custom to say goodbye to our departed with open casket and cry and grieve over them. There is no taboo over touching the body. This is what I grew up with. After all, all that's left is the shell of the person.
