I signed up for a flickr group several months ago called "Crafting 365", wherein the premise was to create something new every day for the next 365 days. Apparently, it was a bit too challenging for me to coordinate creating and photographing at the same time. With the advent of fall (and my nesting instincts kicking in, it appears -- and NO, I am NOT pregnant) I find myself creating more things than usual. So, starting now is as good a time as any. I'll be documenting my adventures here.
day 1: little flapper hat for my sister's dachsund. Yes, I said dachsund. The lady at Kirkwood Knittery thought I was crazy when I told her. day 2: second flapper hat for Gogo, my sister's first dachsund. Yes, I guess I am a bit crazy knitting hats for little dogs that live in Las Vegas. Ahem...Paris? day 3: coffee-a-go-go -- knitted, baby! I had a bit of scrap yarn from the dachsund hats. So, there ya go! day 4: knit apple cozy. These were so dang cute! I couldn't help myself. My friend saw these today and she said to me with the weirdest look on her face, "What would I need an apple cozy for?" I thought it would be cute gifts for my kids' teachers. And my friend is a teacher too. Oh well. day 5: I had this terrific Classic Elite yarn I picked up from Knitorious that was on sale for $3. I revisited my cardmaking skills and combined it with my new knitting skills. I tell you, it was not easy knitting with toothpicks. Toothpicks from Lucille's in Las Vegas, no less. I love the detail on the ends of the toothpicks!
day 6: crocheted pumpkin. I love it! I'm gonna be making a whole bunch for fall. But, note to self, do not use plastic poly pellets to fill it. They try to come out of the spaces while creating the bumps on the pumpkin.
